Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.
My name is Brandy Deel, and I'm honored to be running for Chesapeake City Council.
I'm a wife, mother, claims professional, and proud Chesapeake resident who believes local government should be honest, transparent, and focused on serving the people.
As the parent of a child with disabilities, I've experienced firsthand how decisions made at the local level can shape the lives of families. Those experiences have strengthened my commitment to making Chesapeake a city where every resident has the opportunity to thrive.
I believe leadership begins with listening, treating people with respect, and working together to solve problems. That's the kind of leadership I hope to bring to City Council.
I never imagined I would run for public office. Like many Chesapeake residents, I've spent my life focused on my family, my career, and helping others through life's challenges.
Professionally, I've built my career helping people navigate difficult situations, making thoughtful decisions, and solving problems with fairness and compassion. Those experiences taught me the importance of listening carefully, communicating honestly, and earning people's trust.
Outside of work, my greatest accomplishment is my family. Being the mother of a child with disabilities has shaped my perspective in ways I never expected. It has shown me the importance of accessibility, strong public services, and a community where every family feels supported.
Those experiences are what inspired me to step forward and serve.
"Leadership isn't about politics. It's about listening, serving, and doing what's right for our community."
I believe Chesapeake is one of the best places in Virginia to live, work, and raise a family.
But like many residents, I know there is always room to improve. Strong schools, safe neighborhoods, accessible parks and facilities, responsible spending, and transparent leadership don't happen by accident—they require leaders who listen and make thoughtful decisions.
I'm running because I believe local government should be accessible, accountable, and focused on the people it serves.
My goal isn't simply to hold office. My goal is to earn your trust and work every day to make Chesapeake even stronger for future generations.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and why I'm running for Chesapeake City Council.
Serving this community would be one of the greatest honors of my life. I promise to listen with an open mind, lead with integrity, and always remember that every decision affects real people and real families.
Whether we agree on every issue or not, I believe we all want the same thing—a safe, welcoming, and thriving Chesapeake for generations to come.
I would be honored to earn your vote and your trust.
